It can happen that you have made a change to a product, category or, for example, a margin, but that it is not immediately visible. This is because we use a queue; this queue keeps all webshops and systems under PromoCat running smoothly without overloading the system.
What is a queue?
A queue is comparable to a door. Two people can't go through one door at the same time. Just like an online system, you can't perform 100 actions at once. One action comes before another; a system can simply do this a bit faster than a person.
Our queue prevents problems caused by overload. The reason we use it is that we work with an enormous amount of data; we can't do everything at once and therefore have to do it in parts.
It's not fast enough — how do I make something go faster?
Unfortunately, that isn't possible. The queue can't be influenced, only by the system itself. Based on the task, the system determines its priority and can in reality move one task ahead of another.
But of course this doesn't happen in most cases, because that wouldn't be fair. So it's simply a matter of politely waiting your turn.
Which tasks does the queue affect?
Adjusting and creating margin tables
Creating, editing, moving, copying, approving and hiding products, etc.
Adjusting and creating categories
Importing imprints and adding them to products
When can I get in touch?
You can of course always contact us. However, the queue has 2 peaks.
The first peak is always from 22:00 to 08:00. This is very long because at night we process all the new data we receive from suppliers. This peak only runs until 08:00, because after 08:00 users are doing work that we don't want to hinder too much. The second peak is at 14:00, when we process the most important data that couldn't be processed during the night because the peak has an end time.
In short: if your action still hasn't been processed 24 hours after you carried it out, you can of course contact us ([email protected]) and we'll give you some more information.
Please note! It is important to know that, depending on usage, the time this takes can be affected. In general, therefore, no fixed time can be attached to it.
