Written by Steven Veenstra

What is a script?

A script is a (small) piece of code written in a programming language with the goal of performing a specific function. Many websites and webshops use these. A few examples are:

How do I place a script on my webshop?

Tip!

Loading multiple scripts into your webshop's code can cause your website to slow down. We recommend adding scripts via Google Tag Manager. This tool loads the scripts asynchronously, giving you optimal loading times. More information: Installing Google Tag Manager and measuring conversions

Placing a script is very easy; this is done in 5 simple steps.

  1. In your CMS (back-end), go to "Paginabeheer" (Page management).

  2. In the menu on the left, click "Layout bewerken" (Edit layout).

  3. Open the code editor of the layout editor.

  4. Paste your script into the correct tab; this can be head, body-top or body-bottom.

  5. Publish your layout to make the changes visible live.

Please note!

Depending on who the script provider is, you'll receive instructions about where to place the script. Mainly this will be in the <head>, <body> top or </body> bottom.
